Playing an elbow
Defenders hold elbows because attackers have to clear the corner at close range. Attackers pre-aim the corner or use utility to push the defender off it before turning.
Calling an elbow
Like most callouts it's said with its area: "B Elbow" on Bind or Breeze, "A Elbow" on Split, Sunset and Corrode.
Elbow on every map
Every Elbow callout across all VALORANT maps, with the name to use and what the spot is for.
| Map | Callout | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Bind | B Elbow | A curved corridor behind B Site that joins the defender spawn. |
| Breeze | B Elbow(Elbow) | B Elbow is the bent passage that links Mid Top to B Site and is used for flanks and rotations; the rework raised its wall so it can no longer be jumped, so a call here means someone is coming around that bend. |
| Corrode | A Elbow(Elbow) | A bend on the A-side approach near Yard and Pocket that both teams fight over, since holding it keeps a fallback spot on the site. |
| Corrode | B Elbow | A bend on the B approach that both teams want to hold. It is one of the few fallback spots on B, so players call it when deciding a post-plant hold. |
| Lotus | C Elbow(Elbow) | The bend at the bottom of C Site where C Main turns onto the site, a close angle on anyone walking in. |
| Split | A Elbow(Elbow) | The bend between A Screens and A Back on the defender side of A, a close angle onto anyone walking up to the site. |
| Sunset | A Elbow | A bend on the approach to A Site, reached from Mid along a connector route; attackers usually take it early because it makes holding the spike easier. |
