VALORANT map callouts

SunsetCallouts

Sunset has two bombsites: a small A Site reached through A Elbow and A Link, and a larger B Site reached through B Boba and B Market. Mid Courtyard is the hub that connects both sides, with Mid Top, Mid Tiles and Mid Bottom branching off it, and the defender spawn area feeds into the upper routes at Mid Top, A Link, A Alley and B Boba.

Full list

All 20 Sunset callouts

Every spot on Sunset with the name to call it, what else players call it and what it's for. 17 of them are the names VALORANT shows on the minimap; the rest are community callouts you'll hear in ranked and pro comms.

Sunset A site callouts

A AlleyAlso called AlleyA back passage on the A side full of deep corners and tight 90-degree turns, so defenders can hold A from here and attackers need utility to clear it. It connects toward the upper defender spawn area.
A ElbowA bend on the approach to A Site, reached from Mid along a connector route; attackers usually take it early because it makes holding the spike easier.
A LinkThe connector between Mid (through Mid Top) and the upper defender spawn area on the A side; smokes placed here can block sightlines along the route.
A LobbyThe exit from the attacker spawn that leads into A Main; it works as a choke point close to Mid Tiles and A Elbow.
A MainThe open fighting ground that sits just past A Lobby, where most of the A-side action takes place.
A SiteThe smaller of the two bombsites, which the A Elbow, A Link and A Alley routes all feed into.

Sunset B site callouts

B BobaAlso called BobaThe route linking B Site to Mid and A; attackers push B through it, and defenders can hold the site from it.
B DoorCommunityAlso called Mid DoorThe mechanical door between Mid Courtyard and B Market; closing it cuts the mid route into B.
B LobbyThe exit from the attacker spawn that leads into B Main.
B MainThe key area on the B side that attackers must take to protect the spike; late flanks through here are usually covered with utility.
B MarketAlso called MarketThe connector between B Site and Mid Courtyard, with a mechanical door between it and the courtyard.
B PillarCommunityAlso called PillarThe block in the middle of B Site that the site wraps around; it splits the site and blocks the view from B Main.
B SiteThe larger bombsite, where the spike can only be planted in one specific area.

Sunset mid callouts

Mid BottomThe lower part of the mid area, reached through Mid Courtyard.
Mid BoxCommunityThe box in the middle of Mid Courtyard, the only cover for players crossing mid.
Mid CourtyardAlso called CourtyardThe central hub that connects both bombsites, Mid Tiles, B Market and the upper and lower parts of mid; teams often clash here early in the round.
Mid TilesAlso called Mid-TilesA section of mid that connects to Mid Courtyard and works as a choke point for holding mid.
Mid TopAlso called Mid-TopThe upper mid route that connects to the defender spawn area; defenders use it to stop attackers from taking Mid Courtyard.

Sunset attacker side callouts

Attacker Side SpawnThe attackers' starting area; the lobbies leading into A and B both begin here.

Sunset defender side callouts

Defender Side SpawnThe defenders' starting area, which links into the upper routes including Mid Top, A Link, A Alley and B Boba.

Not on the minimap

Sunset community callouts

Names you'll hear in ranked and pro comms that the game itself doesn't print. They're usually props or corners inside a bigger area, so they let a call be more exact than the minimap allows.

  • B DoorB Site

    Also called Mid Door

The mechanical door between Mid Courtyard and B Market; closing it cuts the mid route into B.

  • B PillarB Site

    Also called Pillar

The block in the middle of B Site that the site wraps around; it splits the site and blocks the view from B Main.

  • Mid BoxMid

The box in the middle of Mid Courtyard, the only cover for players crossing mid.

Area by area

Know every corner of Sunset

A Site

6 callouts
  1. 01Take A Elbow early, since holding it makes it much easier to keep the spike covered.
  2. 02A Site sits far from Mid Courtyard, so defenders struggle to rotate there after a plant; time your pushes around that gap.
  3. 03Clear A Alley and A Lobby with flashes before peeking, because its deep corners punish a blind entry.

B Site

7 callouts
  1. 01Take B Main before the plant; it is the area that protects the spike, so cover late flanks there with utility.
  2. 02Check the state of the B Market door before committing, because it can block sightlines and change how retakes go.
  3. 03Use B Boba as the entry from Mid and A, and expect defenders to hold the site from it.

Mid

5 callouts
  1. 01Mid Courtyard is the hub, so expect early clashes there; smoke it before moving through rather than walking into the open.
  2. 02Mid Top is the defender's route to stop attackers taking Mid Courtyard, so check it when you need to cut off rotations.
  3. 03Mid Tiles is a choke point; use explosive utility to hold it and watch the approach to Mid Courtyard.

FAQ

Sunset callouts, answered.

What are the callouts on Sunset?

Sunset has 20 common callouts. A Site: A Alley, A Elbow, A Link, A Lobby, A Main and A Site. B Site: B Boba, B Door, B Lobby, B Main, B Market, B Pillar and B Site. Mid: Mid Bottom, Mid Box, Mid Courtyard, Mid Tiles and Mid Top.

How many sites does Sunset have?

Sunset has 2 bomb sites (A Site and B Site).

Which Sunset callouts are not shown in the game?

B Door, B Pillar and Mid Box are community names. The game's own callout text doesn't use them, but players and pros say them all the time.

Where is A Alley on Sunset?

A back passage on the A side full of deep corners and tight 90-degree turns, so defenders can hold A from here and attackers need utility to clear it. It connects toward the upper defender spawn area.

Where is A Elbow on Sunset?

A bend on the approach to A Site, reached from Mid along a connector route; attackers usually take it early because it makes holding the spike easier.

Where is A Link on Sunset?

The connector between Mid (through Mid Top) and the upper defender spawn area on the A side; smokes placed here can block sightlines along the route.

Where is A Lobby on Sunset?

The exit from the attacker spawn that leads into A Main; it works as a choke point close to Mid Tiles and A Elbow.

Are these Sunset callouts official?

17 of them are: they're the names VALORANT itself prints on the Sunset minimap. The other 3 are community names that players and pros use but the game doesn't show; they're marked Community.

How do I see callout names in the game?

VALORANT shows the name of the area you're in under the minimap, and a location ping shows the callout name of the spot you pinged, so your team hears and sees the same word.

Are VALORANT callouts translated into other languages?

Partly. In some languages the game translates a few minimap names (Spanish shows "Árbol" for Tree, for example), while names like Main and Lobby stay in English. Most teams use the English names in comms.

How do I learn callouts fast?

Open the map above, switch to the side you're playing, then hit Test yourself. The quiz lights up one spot at a time and asks for its name, so a few rounds of it is enough to know the map before you queue.
