VALORANT map callouts

IceboxCallouts

Icebox is built around two bombsites on opposite ends of a shared central lane. A Site is reached up a conveyor-style belt and is ringed by raised nests, a rafter area and screened walkways that reward elevated positions, while B Site has a crowded front entrance and a quieter backside with a snowman structure and a tube route. Mid sits between them, with a boiler wall and pallet area, and both sites are visible from it, which makes mid the main rotation hub.

All 31 Icebox callouts

Every spot on Icebox with the name to call it, what else players call it and what it's for. 25 of them are the names VALORANT shows on the minimap; the rest are community callouts you'll hear in ranked and pro comms.

Icebox A site callouts

A 4-10CommunityAlso called 4-10The box stack in the middle of A Site in front of the plant, cover for a planter and a common hold.
A BeltThe conveyor belt that climbs up onto A Site from the attacker side, and an elevated walkway above the site.
A GeneratorCommunityAlso called GenThe generator at the back of A Site, cover for a defender holding the site from deep.
A JailCommunityAlso called JailThe fenced room beside A Nest on the attacker side of A, a hiding spot to clear before going up to the site.
A MainCommunityThe attackers' main lane onto A, between Mid Blue and A Belt.
A NestAlso called A Site NestA raised structure on A with cylindrical containers out front, visible through an opening from A Belt. It is reached by rope, zipline or ascender, and it is a plant position, so callouts here warn the team of a nest push or a plant.
A PipesThe pipes under A Nest on the attacker approach to A, a close angle on anyone walking onto the site.
A RaftersAn elevated area over A Site that attackers and defenders both use for high-ground peeks.
A ScreenAlso called A ScreensThe screened walkways on A that players reach by rotating through mid, which lets them skip most of the A elevations.
A SiteThe A bombsite itself, the plant zone that the attackers push into from the belt and the entry lanes.
A ZiplineCommunityAlso called ZipThe zipline across A Site between A Nest and the site, used to cross or to peek from above.

B KitchenAlso called KitchenThe kitchen area of B that gives defenders several angles on both mid approaches and clean access to the site.
B MainCommunityThe attackers' main lane onto B, between B Green and B Yellow.
B OrangeAlso called Orange, Tall BoxAn orange container on the B backside, next to a green box, from which players shoot across the site.

B TubeAlso called Tube, B Site Tube, TunnelA tube with an entrance on B Site that forms a hard attacking route up into the kitchen. Once attackers get through it they gain heavy cover over the B bombsite.
B YellowAlso called YellowA yellow spot on the B front entrance that can be scanned from the ramp corner of the attacker spawn and from B Garage.

Icebox mid callouts

Mid BlueAlso called BlueA spot in mid where enemies push up from mid and attacker spawn, and where arrows are aimed from.

Not on the minimap

Icebox community callouts

Names you'll hear in ranked and pro comms that the game itself doesn't print. They're usually props or corners inside a bigger area, so they let a call be more exact than the minimap allows.

  • A 4-10A Site

    Also called 4-10

The box stack in the middle of A Site in front of the plant, cover for a planter and a common hold.

  • A GeneratorA Site

    Also called Gen

The generator at the back of A Site, cover for a defender holding the site from deep.

  • A JailA Site

    Also called Jail

The fenced room beside A Nest on the attacker side of A, a hiding spot to clear before going up to the site.

  • A MainA Site

The attackers' main lane onto A, between Mid Blue and A Belt.

Area by area

Know every corner of Icebox

A Site

11 callouts
  1. 01Hold A Belt or A Rafters early, because from there you can see most of the bombsite and call out pushes before they reach the plant.
  2. 02Rotate through mid into the A screens to skip most of the A elevations, and use that route when the belt and nest are locked down.
  3. 03Watch for zipline rushes at A Zip and nest pushes at A Nest, and use a utility or a cover player to slow them down before they reach the plant zone.

B Site

15 callouts
  1. 01Control B Kitchen whenever possible, since it covers both mid approaches and gives clean access to the bombsite, and the defense loses most of its options without it.
  2. 02Expect attackers to force the B Tube route into the kitchen, and when it happens, play for cover-heavy trades rather than a long duel in the open.
  3. 03Plant spots like B Default can be targeted from B Back and B Orange, so attackers should set up bounce lineups from those angles and defenders should watch both spots.

Mid

3 callouts
  1. 01Use Mid Blue as the anchor for lurks and push info, because it is where most mid pushes come through and it can be scanned to both sites.
  2. 02Line up your angles with Mid Boiler, since both sites are visible from under the tunnel and the boiler, so holding it gives you early warning for either site.
  3. 03Use smokes to block the mid tunnel and the boiler sightlines when you want to rotate safely, and avoid standing still at Mid Pallet for long because it is a common rotation path.

FAQ

Icebox callouts, answered.

What are the callouts on Icebox?

Icebox has 31 common callouts. A Site: A 4-10, A Belt, A Generator, A Jail, A Main, A Nest, A Pipes, A Rafters, A Screen, A Site and A Zipline. B Site: B Back, B Cubby, B Fence, B Garage, B Green, B Hall, B Hut, B Kitchen, B Main, B Orange, B Site, B Snow Pile, B Snowman, B Tube and B Yellow. Mid: Mid Blue, Mid Boiler and Mid Pallet.

How many sites does Icebox have?

Icebox has 2 bomb sites (A Site and B Site).

Which Icebox callouts are not shown in the game?

A 4-10, A Generator, A Jail, A Main, A Zipline and B Main are community names. The game's own callout text doesn't use them, but players and pros say them all the time.

Where is A 4-10 on Icebox?

The box stack in the middle of A Site in front of the plant, cover for a planter and a common hold.

Where is A Belt on Icebox?

The conveyor belt that climbs up onto A Site from the attacker side, and an elevated walkway above the site.

Where is A Generator on Icebox?

The generator at the back of A Site, cover for a defender holding the site from deep.

Where is A Jail on Icebox?

The fenced room beside A Nest on the attacker side of A, a hiding spot to clear before going up to the site.

Are these Icebox callouts official?

25 of them are: they're the names VALORANT itself prints on the Icebox minimap. The other 6 are community names that players and pros use but the game doesn't show; they're marked Community.

How do I see callout names in the game?

VALORANT shows the name of the area you're in under the minimap, and a location ping shows the callout name of the spot you pinged, so your team hears and sees the same word.

Are VALORANT callouts translated into other languages?

Partly. In some languages the game translates a few minimap names (Spanish shows "Árbol" for Tree, for example), while names like Main and Lobby stay in English. Most teams use the English names in comms.

How do I learn callouts fast?

Open the map above, switch to the side you're playing, then hit Test yourself. The quiz lights up one spot at a time and asks for its name, so a few rounds of it is enough to know the map before you queue.
