VALORANT map callouts

AbyssCallouts

Abyss is a three-lane map where a huge void splits the middle, with the A and B sites at opposite ends. Mid acts as the connector: Mid Library and Mid Bottom feed the B side, while the vent, the ascenders and the Catwalk give vertical routes up to A's high ground. The open map edges mean a bad jump can drop a player off the map, so movement matters as much as utility.

All 23 Abyss callouts

Every spot on Abyss with the name to call it, what else players call it and what it's for. 23 of them are the names VALORANT shows on the minimap; the rest are community callouts you'll hear in ranked and pro comms.

Abyss A site callouts

A BridgeA thin platform on the A side that players dash onto, and that also offers a plant option over the drop.
A LinkThe passage running from mid to the A-side spawn, the back of A and the high ground above the site. It is a common line for rotations and for attackers moving toward A.
A LobbyThe route that starts at the attacker spawn and leads to A Main.
A MainThe main approach into A Site from the attacker side. Defenders usually contest it early, and it is the choke that decides whether the A entry opens.
A SecretAlso called A Back SiteA narrow ledge on the outer edge of the A side, reached by a hard jump across. It is a shortcut for players with strong movement, and a missed jump sends them off the map.
A SecurityThe spot tucked behind the large structure on A Site.
A SiteThe A bombsite itself. Other A-side callouts, from A Tower above to A Vent and A Main below, are all named relative to it.
A TowerAlso called HeavenThe raised spot overlooking A Site, reached by the A ascender or by breaking the vent from mid. Holding it gives height over the site and makes retakes harder.
A VentAlso called A VentsA pair of breakable vent doors, each with 120 HP, linking A Site to mid. Once broken, the route stays open, and it is also the path toward A Tower from the Catwalk.

Abyss B site callouts

B DangerAlso called DangerA risky off-route on the far outer edge behind B Site, a narrow ledge where one misstep sends a player off the map. Attackers use it to reach B from behind the site.
B LinkThe back route from Mid Library to B Site, and it also connects to B Tower and the defender spawn.
B LobbyThe attacker-side area that feeds B Main, where B pushes are set up.
B MainThe main entrance into B Site, and the most direct lane for both teams. Attackers reach it from Mid Bottom.
B NestA holding spot near B Main from which a player watches angles into B Site.
B SiteThe B bombsite. B Main, B Link, B Tower and B Danger all either lead into it or overlook it.
B TowerAlso called B HeavenA raised position above B Site, reached through the back-area link. It gives height on the site and connects to the defender spawn.

Abyss mid callouts

Mid BendA ledge area on the mid side that is reached by a rope ascender from B Main. It links the B lane directly to the middle of the map.
Mid BottomThe lower mid passage that connects the mid area to B Main. Attackers coming through mid use it to reach the B entrance.
Mid CatwalkAn elevated path across mid. Players reach it by jumping a gap from Mid Top or Mid Library and then using an ascender, and it leads to the vent toward A Tower.
Mid LibraryAlso called LibraryThe rear-central area that links mid to B Site from behind. It is a chokepoint for lurks and mid rushes.
Mid TopThe upper part of mid near Mid Library, and the jump-off point for reaching Mid Catwalk.

Abyss attacker side callouts

Attacker Side SpawnAlso called Attacker SpawnThe attacker starting area, where the A Lobby route begins. One of the map's three ascenders sits in this spawn zone.

Abyss defender side callouts

Defender Side SpawnThe defender starting area. B Link and B Tower both lead out from here toward the back of B and mid.

Know every corner of Abyss

A Site

9 callouts
  1. 01Clear Sentinel utility such as trapwires and nanobots before the team pushes through A Main, because the entry is wide enough for the whole team to go together.
  2. 02Split the attack so that a pair enters through A Vent while a trio holds A Main, which forces defenders to cover two entry lanes.
  3. 03On defence, hold the high ground with a sniper who keeps moving, and stack utility in the narrow A entries so flankers coming through mid are caught early.

B Site

7 callouts
  1. 01Use B Danger for a fast close entry, with teammates taking B Main after recon or flashes reveal the defenders, but remember that a misstep on the ledge drops you off the map.
  2. 02As a defender, cover B Link and B Tower together, since both connect straight to the defender spawn and let attackers rotate quickly.
  3. 03B is hard to hold alone, so pair a player on B Tower with a teammate below to cover the site from two heights.

Mid

5 callouts
  1. 01Contest mid early as attackers, because controlling it gives access to both sites through Mid Library and Mid Bottom.
  2. 02Post a player at Mid Library to watch the chokepoint for lurks and mid rushes, since it sees both the B link and the mid lane.
  3. 03Treat Mid Catwalk and Mid Top as flank paths: they reach the A-side vent and the high ground, so holding them denies a route to A Tower.

FAQ

Abyss callouts, answered.

What are the callouts on Abyss?

Abyss has 23 common callouts. A Site: A Bridge, A Link, A Lobby, A Main, A Secret, A Security, A Site, A Tower and A Vent. B Site: B Danger, B Link, B Lobby, B Main, B Nest, B Site and B Tower. Mid: Mid Bend, Mid Bottom, Mid Catwalk, Mid Library and Mid Top.

How many sites does Abyss have?

Abyss has 2 bomb sites (A Site and B Site).

Where is A Bridge on Abyss?

A thin platform on the A side that players dash onto, and that also offers a plant option over the drop.

Where is A Link on Abyss?

The passage running from mid to the A-side spawn, the back of A and the high ground above the site. It is a common line for rotations and for attackers moving toward A.

Where is A Lobby on Abyss?

The route that starts at the attacker spawn and leads to A Main.

Where is A Main on Abyss?

The main approach into A Site from the attacker side. Defenders usually contest it early, and it is the choke that decides whether the A entry opens.

Are these Abyss callouts official?

23 of them are: they're the names VALORANT itself prints on the Abyss minimap. All of the Abyss callouts here are the official ones.

How do I see callout names in the game?

VALORANT shows the name of the area you're in under the minimap, and a location ping shows the callout name of the spot you pinged, so your team hears and sees the same word.

Are VALORANT callouts translated into other languages?

Partly. In some languages the game translates a few minimap names (Spanish shows "Árbol" for Tree, for example), while names like Main and Lobby stay in English. Most teams use the English names in comms.

How do I learn callouts fast?

Open the map above, switch to the side you're playing, then hit Test yourself. The quiz lights up one spot at a time and asks for its name, so a few rounds of it is enough to know the map before you queue.
