VALORANT map callouts

AscentCallouts

Ascent community callouts

Names you'll hear in ranked and pro comms that the game itself doesn't print. They're usually props or corners inside a bigger area, so they let a call be more exact than the minimap allows.

Area by area

Know every corner of Ascent

A Site

12 callouts
  1. 01Clear Heaven and Hell before planting, since both give defenders hidden angles on the bomb.
  2. 02Push A Main as the main entry and smoke off Wine or the Tree route to cut off flanks.
  3. 03Retake through A Lobby with a flash, and check Heaven (A Rafters) and Hell last.
  4. 04Spot Window and Garden with a player or utility before committing, since they can open flank sightlines.

B Site

8 callouts
  1. 01Stun the B Lobby corner before entering B Main so the lane is not shot at as you go in.
  2. 02Hold Boat House from the back corner; it covers both the plant spot and the approach from the lobby.
  3. 03When retaking, commit to one side of the bombsite, since Boat House and B Main cover different angles.

Mid

8 callouts
  1. 01Take Mid Top and Catwalk early to control the A rotation, or you will get pinched mid-push.
  2. 02Hold Mid Cubby from the flank to pick off players moving up toward Catwalk.
  3. 03Move through Mid Market quickly as a B rotation path before the defenders can smoke it.
  4. 04Keep Courtyard and Mid Link open as rotation routes so a mid split does not cut off one site.

FAQ

Ascent callouts, answered.

What are the callouts on Ascent?

Ascent has 30 common callouts. A Site: A Door, A Garden, A Generator, A Link, A Lobby, A Main, A Rafters, A Site, A Tree, A Window, A Wine and Hell. B Site: B Back, B Boat House, B Default, B Door, B Lobby, B Main, B Pillar and B Site. Mid: Mid Bottom, Mid Catwalk, Mid Courtyard, Mid Cubby, Mid Link, Mid Market, Mid Pizza and Mid Top.

How many sites does Ascent have?

Ascent has 2 bomb sites (A Site and B Site). Ascent has two bombsites, A and B, joined by a central mid area that acts as the main rotation hub. Attackers enter each site through a narrow main lane (A Main or B Main), while manually operated doors can block sightlines during plants and retakes.

Which Ascent callouts are not shown in the game?

A Door, A Generator, A Link, Hell, B Back, B Default, B Door and B Pillar are community names. The game's own callout text doesn't use them, but players and pros say them all the time.

Where is A Door on Ascent?

The closable metal door between Tree and A Site; shut it to cut the route from mid onto A.

Where is A Garden on Ascent?

The defender-side room just west of A Site, joining the site to Window and Tree and covering the Tree exit.

Where is A Generator on Ascent?

The tall generator box on A Site, the main cover for the plant and a common spot to hold A Main from.

Where is A Link on Ascent?

The route from the top of Mid Catwalk into Tree, how a mid split reaches A Site.

Are these Ascent callouts official?

22 of them are: they're the names VALORANT itself prints on the Ascent minimap. The other 8 are community names that players and pros use but the game doesn't show; they're marked Community.

How do I see callout names in the game?

VALORANT shows the name of the area you're in under the minimap, and a location ping shows the callout name of the spot you pinged, so your team hears and sees the same word.

Are VALORANT callouts translated into other languages?

Partly. In some languages the game translates a few minimap names (Spanish shows "Árbol" for Tree, for example), while names like Main and Lobby stay in English. Most teams use the English names in comms.

How do I learn callouts fast?

Open the map above, switch to the side you're playing, then hit Test yourself. The quiz lights up one spot at a time and asks for its name, so a few rounds of it is enough to know the map before you queue.
